SEO in 2007 - Strategy and Planning
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has been drastically changed in these recent years. We are in 2007 and it looks we need more understanding, deep knowledge before we jump into implementing SEO.
Keyword research has become most important component and at present we can access lots of analytics software, online tools.
Pinging Search Engine has become very easy. We have Google Sitemaps in xml format which are even accepted by MSN and Yahoo takes .txt file which contains all the urls.
Back Links development has become integral part and now what counts is Relevancy of our link backs. As many of us know, Link Farms are bad neighbourhoods and not recommended as per latest trends.
PageRank is no longer fancy of Search Engine Optimizers. Google PR is always changing and its unpredictability has left many professionals not to care for it.
Content is still the King. It rules. Creating content, sentences woven around the keywords would give Organic results but may not yield good conversions.
Onpage Optimization has still a bit of importance left in it and if done with correct basics, this will have boost in your Ranking.
To rise higher in SERPs (Search Engine Resultant Pages), constant SEO and applying latest trends + high volume of traffic is the only way.
Offsite optimization does not include Blogging (PR leak will not happen), signature in forums and commenting etc... Its still purely Back Link with Anchor text, rotation of linking text.
For Traffic generation, Banner advertisements, emaliers are working fine. Even PPC is fruitful when tried not with major search engines.
